I open this tread dedicated to conversion of Basic Impetus armies into 300pts armies for Impetus.
300 pts armies are very close to Basic Impetus counterparts and the aim here is to try to explain how to get an Impetus army from a basic Impetus one.

I will try in most cases to keep the same number and type of Units or adding the minimum amount of extra troops.

But I expect you'll want me to do them . If you let me have the point costs I can make a start on them now.

I assume you are talking about a similar layout to the BI armies for the conversions and not a full list.

well I have tried to pump up the Basic Impetus army and the result is that you can reach 295 pts with the same figures.

This provide you 6 Hoplite Units with Discipline A at 33pts each and 1 S at 12pts.
Then I have added a Genious General at 40pts and added the Command Structure cost that is 20pts.

Still 20 pts missing, so I have added 3 Rolls of Destiny and I have reached 295 pts.

Of course this was to keep the bases already present in the Basic Impetus list.
You can do different choices by adding few more Units.

These are the costs of Generals in Impetus
Genious / Charismatic 40pts
Expert 30pts
Fair 20pts
Poor 10pts
Incompetent -10 pts
Cowardly -10 pts and -5pts per Unit under his command

Well I would avoid a Cowardly commander for Spartans but you can downgrade him to Fair, use only one Roll of Destiny and add one more Hoplite Unit.

If you are feeling generous you could add the Jurchen-Chin to go up against.

I will work at Khitian Liao, but I think that simply adding troops that now are option you go over 300pts

If I wanted to upgrade HYW English, HYW French, Early Imperial Romans and Gauls to 300 pts, what is the minimum extra units I'd need? I'm thinking of getting the full version because I love the basic version, but I've been working on these armies for a long time and I just want to play!

you can find the beta list for Ancient British here http://www.dadiepiombo.com/beta1e.html, so it is up to taste and tactical choice to add troops.
I think you can probably double the Basic List army.
