Hello Lorenzo,

yesterday we made an Impetus game at Federico's home. A medieval battle in 25mm (very large bases!), Pavia vs Milan XIII century italian clash! Nice match, the rules went on nicely.. it was my first Impetus match and the second for Federico, therefore we had to look in the book sometimes.

Two questions came out, just simple ones.. I post them here to be sure.

1) Is the following correct? In order to put a unit in opportunity, I roll a DISCIPLINE test as the first action of the unit in the round. If I make it, then the unit stays still and goes into opportunity. But if I fail, can I move as normal, or the failed attempt it counts as an action (i.e. I have to roll for disorder, etc..)?

2) I have a S unit which is, say, 4 cms in front of a friendly unit of knights (i.e. 4 cms gap between the two bases). The S unit is charged, and it decides to evade. Going back 8 cms, it is not sufficient to fully interpenetrate the knights. What happens? it stops before (thus with more risk of being caught by the chargers) or it interpenetrates the knights anyway (ending back of them)?

Thanks,
Lorenzo

PS any preview on when some first new (beta version) army list will be posted on the web? I vote for later romans and alexander successors!

hello Lorenzo,
happy to know you have played Impetus yesterday, even in my absence Very Happy

1) Opportunity. If you fail nothing happen, simply you don't suceed in putting your unit in opportunity. Triying to put a Unit in Opportunity is free without any further consequences. If you fail you can freely act.

2) Interpenetration. if the interpenetrating Unit moves to the rear it is automatically placed behind the interpenetrated Unit (5.10.1). So in this case your S can reach a secure position.

ah, for beta lists at tis stage I collect favorite armies then I will start to publish the drafts.
I plan to start with draft lists starting from the typical troop types and then going more in depth (adding more options), but this allow me to work at more lists so players can start to play.
