Hi
Just checking we are on the right track. If a unit of infantry
is in front of a friendly unit and it takes permanent losses so it is only
left with one VBU and is disordered it is forced to retreat - what actually
happens?
They can't interpenetrate so do they go behind or push back the back unit -
the unit they go into losses 1 VBU and is disordered but do the retreating
unit count as disordered and thus take another permanent loss?
We are a bit confused .
Also with pilum - if the unit is charged by 2 enemy do you just put the pilum on the MAIN unit ?
First of all I want to say that I'm working in these days to put online the updated version of Basic Impetus.
I plan to release it by mid May.
It will be English, Italian, French and will be followed shortly by the Spanish version.
So now I tell you how it will work (some of this stuff is already the ruless or in the errata section):
When a Unit must retreat it pushes back friendly Unit it cannot interpenetrate.
If it can interpenetrate then the controlling player can choose to push back or interpenetrate.
If the friendly Unit is interpenetrated in this circumstance it is Disordered. No other penalties are applied.
If the friendly Unit is in close combat, it cannot be interpenetrated or pushed back and the retreat is stopped (anyway the friendly Unit that stops the retreat is immediatly disordered in any case, if already in disorder nothing change).
Losses to rear friendly Units do apply only in case of route of the front Unit.
Also the so called "cumulative disorder" that produces a loss is applied only when a Cohesion Test is performed.
In all other cases the Unit keeps the disorder status already present.
As for the Pilum the Main Unit uses all the dice while the supporting Unit only 1 (if they are charged)
