Hi All
I will be running a 15mm 300pts tournament at Vapnartak in York next year.
3 games, usual one day restrictions, armies from 2000BC to 1000AD
More to follow but thought I would let people know ASAP so you can all start planning.
Thanks

Its time to start trying some tournement games and this seems as good a place as any. Im looking at various 15mm so its time to decide, should be able to find one and paint up for then.

Yep I think its a good to have a wide enough period for people to enter their army of choice while not being too wide so heavy armoured knights are charging to victory etc. I thinking of using Later Andalusian so just in 765-1132.
Hopefully Impetus Tournaments will become more popular in the UK in 2010

Yep id play 28mm, but I dont think Impetus is popular in 28s at the moment in UK. Still,... not painted or played 15mm for years so im also looking forward to that.

The army dates are a slight problem for me, but with a few new figures I could work up a small Fatimid army (starting date AD 978). Would that be acceptable?

For everyone; don't worry too much about armies, my club has around 10 people with armies painted for this period and will have around an additional 12 painted by the time of this event. I know some will be willing to loan armies and this was one of the driving reasons behind choosing this time frame.
Again it is 15mm as this is what my club plays and has available, I know some people have 28mm so If some one is willing to run an event at another time I'm sure people will come.
I would note though the game play’s very differently between the two scales so if you play 28mm regularly I would play a few games of 15mm before arriving in York, unlike me who turned up to the Leeds 28mm event last year having not played 28mm before! |

OK, I'm in. I will probably do the Fatimids anyway as I need an opponent for my Crusaders, but if not I'll be glad to borrow an army.

Well this is now official there are 10 places on a first come first served basis.
If people can PM me there email, I will send an entry form.
Cost is £10 for the day, which gets you entry in to the event and the competition.
Thanks

John Paul,
Sorry if this sounds like a 'challenge'- its not meant to be I'm genuinely interested/puzzled. How does the game play differently depending on the scale of figure?
I've heard people say the same about DBM in the past and presumed that was because of the competitive basis of 15mm gaming in DBM vice 25mm. Is it the same in Impetus or is there some difference based on the physical space the bigger bases occupy?
Fascinated and confused
