What's the reasoning behind the extra depth allowed for the spear as far as I can tell they wern't used in deep units.
Alot of the info I have looks like they were used in smaller groups supporting the other missile troops and heaver infantry.
If you look at some of the formation diagram's from the period or later, to me they look like they wern't in deep blocks, but then again I may be wrong.

Cheers Slacky.

actually they don't have extra depth.
You can provide some troops with long spear but this doesn't mean you can form Large Units with them.
Lists always tell you if you can form Large Unit (and in these cases you see also the value in parenthesis for the rear rank Units).

Shocked OOPS my mistake didn't see that one at all.
Though it does give me another question, spear cancel the impetus bonus of enemy mounted which is great.
Is there any reason why pike don't give the same bonus?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Ok makes sense, it doesn't include pike on page 11 but does on page 38 under 7.4 impetus bonus.
I think I will give up while I'm ahead Confused

When the Second version comes out can we have an idex? Razz

I think that ninjas could be classified like particular S.
Don't think of great use during a battle but could add taste and with the official list maybe taken in cosideration.
In the meanwhile if someone want to make some test could be classed as Dopplesoders (see Italian Wars lists in the book for statistics).

And Ikko -Ikky?
