I open this new thread to keep you updated about the rule-book.

The Italian version will be released by the end of February. The English one in April and will be presented at Salute 08 (wargame show in London).

Here a preview of the cover. More info will follow, keep tuned. Wink

Hi,

This is my first message here, so hello everyone. Will there be a Spanish translation of the rules?

Thank you

And is there any "Spanish" forum or sub-forum dedicated to the Spanish translation?

good point.

The real problem with translating a rule set is that it is very easy to change the sense of the original text. Apart from translators' fault this may depend on difference in the languages.
For examples with Basic Impetus I discovered that there is no a word in German that means impetus. Impetus is a Latin word, in Italian is "impeto", while in French you can use "elan" etc. So to explain in German the sense for examaple of "Impetus bonus" is more complicated.

I will be able to check with my translator the correct sense of the English version. For the French version mrnouillat and his club will confront both the Italian and the English text. I will meet them at Toutatis convention where an Impetus game will be played.

As my knowledge of the Spanish version is very poor I need someone to trust in, someone that possibly knows also Italian.
The opening of a Spanish section, as well as a French one here in the forum is important also for this aspect, but I need someone that moderates them.
At this stage there are no Spanish gamers that have voted in the poll (see Gamers area) and have no idea how many Spanish gamers are in the forum.
Any?

Well, we are three in our club of Barcelona Very Happy Is this enough? Laughing

I'm open to consider the possibility of translating it into Spanish. That would certainly increase the possibility of Spanish newcomers, but I'm afraid I don't speak Italian at all Sad . I translated DBM and Revenge rules into Spanish some years ago, so I have some experience, but both were English texts, sorry.

Is your English translation good enough? If so, I think I would be able to try a translation into Spanish from a strictly technical point of view.

Thank you

yes from English would be fine. English version will be of course correct, the double source just a plus to be sure.
Anyway I'm here for any doubt Wink
