These pictures came from a game I played between New Kingdom Egyptians (Zvezda) and Sargonid Assyrians (HaT Industrie). We played about 6-7 games and the Egyptians have not beaten the Assyrians, despite switching players. History repeats.
Anyway, Lorenzo suggested I post this for people to see slotted bases. Here is what I did to make them. I cut these bases out of mdf board with my scroll saw. Then I glued magnetic sheets on them. Then I put borders around them, flocked flocked them, and painted the magnetic sheets. I painted the plastic Zvezda Egyptians and mounted them on 20mm by 20mm metal bases (made by Wargame Accessories) and then flocked them with grass, dirt or brown grass. The bases fit five miniatures across and can be easily removed to use for other gaming systems. All 1/72 models and bases came from Woodrow's War Store at
www.toysoldiers.ca. In this game the blue dice represented the units VBUs. The red dice with a "1" represented "stopped". Once a unit is worn we changed the blue dice to red or green. Here are two pictures. You can view more at:
Pharoah's Demise . Here is a couple of pictures to show what I mean.
