Hi All

This is an advanced warning that I have primary go ahead to run an Impetus competition at The Derby worlds event in October.

It looks like it will be a team event when team of three enter.

I will post full detail as soon as I get them.

Thanks

JP

John Paul

Sounds Good!

The Republic of West Yorkshire Posse have begun training.

Do you have any thoughts on figure size or army size?

400pts could be a good option, to be played on 120x180cm/ 4x6 feet.
400pts can work also without halving the minima, but halving them armies may have more options.

Any particular reason for 15mm?

25mm would look more impressive and still be played oin the same sized tables.

I think 15mm is more popular (at least among those who attend the tournaments). I suppose other tournaments in Derby will be mostly on 15mm (with the exception of WAB).

Anyway I do like also 28mm and if there will be an occasion for a tournament in UK in this scale I would very pleased to come.

For those interested in 28mm there will be an international tournament this summer (June 20-21) in Barcelona.

15mm is purely because; 1 it is my personal fav scale
2 it is the scale our club play Impetus at.

Bigwig, how many players in your area would be interested in a 28mm tournament?

Currently we have 3 "hard core" 28mm players and another 2-3 starting to select an army.
We mainly play with 28mm becuase most of us have come from a WAB background. Although I do still have some 15mm WRG 7th armies hiding at the back of the cupboard.

Hi Bigwig

If it helps I'm sure that come Derby our club could loan out a number of armies.

Also if you feel like running a 25mm comp over the summer I would try and get some of our club to attend. I still have 2 fully painted WAB armies as do others at the club, so we can sort that out.

Thanks

JP

John Paul,

I think the guys at the club are keen to go to Derby and we are not adverse, generally, to using 15mm figures. We may pick a sub-period that none of us have 25mm armies for and each do a 400pt army from that period. Let's see what Extra Impetus 2 offers us! A 400 point army isn't a massive number of figures!!

There is the possibility of a 28mm one day competition up here. I'll post more details if I can drum up support, organise room hire etc.
